An initial screening assessment lasts up to 1 hour and includes a report. It may include taking a case history, formal/ informal assessment, and observation, discussion with other professionals or time reading reports from other professionals involved. The report includes brief details of the assessment carried out and therapeutic aims if appropriate.

This assessment is suitable for children with speech sound difficulties and younger children.

A detailed assessment normally lasts between 2 and 3 hours and includes a detailed report. This will take between 1 and 3 sessions but this will be discussed with you first. It may include any of the activities listed under screening assessment but in more detail. The report may include detailed analysis of formal assessments and language samples and will include therapeutic aims if appropriate.

This assessment is suitable for older children with language or social interaction difficulties.

£350 including report

If treatment programmes are required to be completed by a third party after the assessment, the time taken for the preparation will be charged as below.

A standard therapy session lasts between 30 minutes to an hour and includes time spent with the child/ parents or teachers. It also includes time spent (within reason) outside the session in preparation of material, planning, and liaison with parents and professionals. Session therapy resources and appropriate activities are included within the session rate.

Letters, reports and treatment programmes will be charged in terms of the total time taken to prepare them. Attendance at meetings is charged at the same rate + travel.

While these are usually not charged for, I reserve the right to charge for lengthy telephone conversations over 15 minutes (this will be discussed with you).

Mileage in excess of 20 miles round trip for travelling to sites for provision of therapy/ services will be charged at 0.49p per mile.

Time spent travelling will only be charged for journeys that are over 50 miles.

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellation of appointments where possible. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or failed appointments will be charged at the standard rate for that session + travel + associated expenses at my discretion. Parents will be expected to contact us by email or telephone.

Invoices will be presented at the end of each month or by arrangement with your child’s school. Payment terms are strictly 7 days on receipt of account and I reserve the right to charge interest on amounts outstanding at a rate of 5% per month or part thereof. I also reserve the right to pass outstanding debts to third party collection agencies. Assessments will need to be paid in advance of the session appointment.

Clients using private health insurance are responsible for settling the invoice and then claiming from the company concerned. It is advisable to check the level of your cover before agreeing to therapy.

Before an initial consultation, parents or carers will be asked to sign and return to me, a declaration indicating that they have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions of charges.
